In the side story of, "The Distance to Longing" Rui is under immense pressure to complete a script which responds to Sakaki's critcism. His dear friends make an unannounced visit to his room where they gift him a thoughtful care package. They share their concern for his unhealthy working habits, wishing to support him however they can.

In the side story of, "Words of Encourgement", everyone works together to ensure Rui doesn't push himself after becoming injured. Rui expresses his guilt for almost ruining a show, but is reminded by his friends and the virtual singers that they will always care for his wellbeing over their shows.
